Westmill Wind and Westmill Solar achieve Fair Tax Mark

Westmill Wind and Westmill Solar are thrilled to announce that they have both received an award recognising their commitment to fair and responsible tax conduct for the year 2024-25.

The Fair Tax Mark is the world’s first accolade to recognise those organisations that go above and beyond to ensure that the processes that they have in place guarantee transparent and honest tax reporting. Available to businesses of all sizes, the Mark is still an exclusive award, with only 275 worldwide currently recognised.

There is a stringent process in place to achieve the Fair Tax Mark, with applicants required to provide detailed accounts to The Fair Tax Foundation, which are then scrupulously reviewed and assessed before an award is given. A statement is then provided to confirm that the organisation has met the necessary standards to receive the Mark.

Mark Luntley, Chair of Westmill Wind, explains what achieving the award means to the co-operatives:

As co-operatives, we are always working to ensure transparency with our members, in accordance with the seven co-operatives principles. However, the Fair Tax Mark also recognises that Westmill Wind and Westmill Solar are committed to ensuring that our finances are being managed in a clear and honest way, and making sure that we pay the right amount of tax, at the right time and in the right place.
