Adam Twine awarded MBE in King’s Birthday Honours

Westmill is thrilled to announce that landowner and pioneering founder of Westmill, Adam Twine, has been awarded an MBE in King Charles’ Birthday Honours.

Granted in recognition of his services to community onshore wind, the award came as a complete surprise to Adam. He is proud and humbled to receive the award, but was quick to point out that the successful establishment of Westmill Wind, in particular, was due to the hard work, determination and expertise of a group of dedicated wind enthusiasts, who did not stop until the wind farm was built.

Adam is pleased that the award helps to raise the profile of the sector, and hopes that it might encourage others to set up community energy co-operatives in their communities, following in the footsteps of Westmill.
