Westmill Solar Co-operative is delighted to announce that it has given an incredible £30,000 to community organisations in 2025 through its Community Funding Grant Scheme.

With many applications from a huge range of organisations working in areas such as fuel poverty, sustainability, food production and energy efficiency, it was a challenge for the panel selecting the recipients to choose the final benefactors. A further six organisations were offered support in obtaining a grant towards enacting energy efficiency measures in community buildings.

Tom Parkinson, Chair of Westmill Solar, was pleased to see applications from such a wider range of organisations:

We worked really hard this year to encourage as many eligible organisations as possible to apply. Our Community Funding Grant Scheme is a key part of our co-operative structure and demonstrates one of the the aims of community energy: to make a difference in the areas where they are situated. We are thrilled to be able to support local groups with their projects to improve the lives of those in our community.

Details of our Community Funding Grant Scheme for 2026 will be added to our website when the application window opens.
