WeSET finalists in Oxford Climate Awards
Westmill Sustainable Energy Trust are excited to be announced as a finalist in the Oxford Climate Awards 2026.
Spearheaded by The Oxford Mail and Oxford City Council, the awards celebrate organisations which promote sustainability, reduce emissions and protect nature. WeSET has been shortlisted for the Climate Community Group award in recognition of its work in educating the public on renewable energy and promoting sustainability through its work with local schools and community groups.
Other categories in the awards recognise organisations which promote green travel, demonstrate innovation in green practices and support greener buildings and retrofit, as well as those working to protect and enhance biodiversity. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in Oxford on Thursday 15th October.
As well as conducting tours of the Westmill site for school children and members of the public, WeSET have created a suite of classroom resources on sustainability and renewable energy, which can be used across different settings. These are available to download for free from our website. These have even made it as far as Ukraine, where they have been translated to teach young people about working in the green energy sector.
WeSET is also able to provide sustainability support to schools, through staff training, guidance in writing school sustainability plans and resources. Get in touch to find out more.
