Coleshill Earth Summit
WeSET were delighted to be part of the Coleshill National Trust Earth Summit again in May this year. It was a truly inspiring event, bringing together primary pupils passionate about learning how to tackle the climate crisis. Hosted in the beautiful grounds of Coleshill, with a view of our turbines, the Summit provided an ideal platform for education, creativity, and collaboration.
We ran an interactive stand focused on renewable energy, showcasing how community-owned wind and solar projects like ours can empower local action and drive meaningful change. Our hands-on model wind turbine kits were a hit with learners, who enthusiastically competed to generate the most power, sparking thoughtful questions about how energy is generated, stored and used.
What impressed us most was the depth of curiosity and engagement from pupils and teachers alike. Many were already well informed and some even had questions about careers in sustainability; an encouraging sign for the future! Teachers told us that our activities aligned well with their climate curriculum and helped to bring abstract topics to life.

We also had valuable conversations with other exhibitors, sharing insights on community energy, climate education, and policy. The National Trust’s organisation was excellent throughout, from clear communication to on-the-ground support on the day.
Events like this show how vital it is to inspire and equip the next generation with tools to build a sustainable world. We left feeling energised and hopeful and we look forward to taking part again in 2026.
