Inspiring Change: WeSET Sustainability Lead Workshops

WeSET was delighted to welcome primary teachers to Coleshill in the least week of September for our Sustainability Lead workshops; made possible with grant funding from Younity. Held at the Timber Store, the sessions were packed with practical ideas, lively discussion, and collaborative energy. Our presentations and free resources were warmly received, sparking thoughtful conversations and peer-to-peer sharing throughout the day.

A standout moment was the comic co-creation activity inspired by Dr Dominic Davies of City St George’s, University of London, which encouraged teachers to explore sustainability through visual storytelling. The creativity and insight shown were exceptional, with many participants keen to adapt the approach in their own classrooms.

Feedback was overwhelmingly positive:

  • All attendees left feeling more confident and energised to create sustainability plans for their schools.
  • Everyone found the resources helpful and relevant.
  • Many expressed interest in staying connected and booking future visits -including those travelling from further afield, such as Newbury and Wantage.

Comments included:

Great informative and useful sessions… inspired me to put things into action.

Excellent day, knowledgeable and inspiring presenters.

We’re excited to continue supporting schools on their sustainability journey, one plan, one story, and one solar panel at a time.
