Both Westmill Wind and Westmill Solar Co-operatives are members of Energy4All (E4A) and rely on E4A for administrative support. E4A is the UK’s leading social enterprise in the delivery of community owned renewable energy schemes.

Low Carbon Hub Oxford is a pioneering social enterprise that’s out to prove we can meet our energy needs in a way that’s good for people and good for the planet. Westmill Solar works with the Low Carbon Hub to deliver Community Energy Assessments.

Energy Coop

EnergyCoop is part of OurCoop family of businesses. Through their white label with Octopus Energy, they offer the Community Power tariff; this is the only domestic energy tariff supplied entirely by community energy projects just like ours. They have worked with Westmill Wind and Solar to deliver the Trading Dividend.

REScoop.eu is the European federation of energy communities. Westmill Wind and Westmill Solar are both members of REScoop.eu.

 

Community Energy England

CEE is a not for profit organisation who provide a voice for the community energy sector and help to create the conditions within which community energy can flourish. Westmill Wind and Westmill Solar are both members of CEE.

REScoop.eu MECISE

REScoop.eu MECISE is a consortium of established energy co-operatives developing projects for renewable energy and energy efficiency. Westmill Solar is the first co-operative to receive funding from MECISE.

Co-ops UK is a network for the UK’s co-operative businesses. Their mission is to empower and grow the UK’s co-operative economy by being the voice of co-operation and member ownership.

 

International Cooperative Alliance

The International Cooperative Alliance advocates for the interests and success of co-operatives, providing a global voice and forum for knowledge, expertise and co-ordinated action.

Ethex

Ethex is a not-for-profit organisation which helps everyday people make ethical investments that fund extraordinary organisations. Until 2022, Ethex was the management organisation for Westmill Solar Co-operative. Ethex is the bond registrar for Westmill Solar’s bondholders.

Contractors and Advisors

RES

RES is an organisation working to create a future where everyone has access to affordable zero carbon energy. RES provides Operations and Maintenance support for Westmill Wind Farm Co-operative.

Green Nation

Green Nation has been a leader in promoting the energy transition since being founded in 2011. Green Nation provides Asset Management support for Westmill Solar Farm Co-operative.

British Solar Renewables (BSR)

British Solar Renewables (BSR) creates smart energy systems for a net zero carbon future. Westmill Solar Co-operative works with BSR as part of their asset management.

Wrigleys

Wrigleys is a specialist firm of solicitors who are recognised as experts in their specialist areas and give practical, common sense, and technically excellent advice to their clients. The boards of Westmill Wind Farm Co-operative and Westmill Solar Co-operative seek legal advice from Wrigleys on an ad hoc basis.

Gravita (previously Critchleys)

Gravita is an independent Member Firm of DFK International, a global alliance of accounting firms and their expert teams, working closely together across 430 offices in over 90 countries.

Gravita audits the annual accounts for the Westmill Wind and Solar co-operatives.

Other Affiliated Organisations

Younity

A joint venture of Octopus Energy and Our Coop dedicated to supporting the growth of community energy in Great Britain. Younity work with Octopus Energy to purchase the electricity that Westmill Wind and Westmill Solar export to the grid, through a PPA.

Octopus Energy

Octopus Energy is a British energy company which supplies green energy to their customers. Both Westmill Wind and Westmill Solar Co-operatives have their Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Octopus Energy, organised through Younity.

Our Co-op

Our Coop operate a family of businesses owned by their members, including EnergyCoop. Since the merger of Central Co-op and The Midcounties Co-operative, they have become the largest independent co-operative society in the UK.

The Climate Coalition

The Climate Coalition (TCC) is the UK’s largest group of people dedicated to action on climate change and limiting its action on the world’s poorest communities.  Westmill Solar was the first co-operative member of TCC.

Fair Tax Foundation

The Fair Tax Mark accreditation scheme is the gold standard of responsible tax conduct, bridging the gap between corporate responsibility and the wider tax justice movement. Westmill Wind and Westmill Solar Co-operatives are both Fair Tax Accredited.

National Trust (Coleshill)

Dating back to the Doomsday Book, Coleshill, home of the Heritage and Rural Skills Centre, is a rural place of innovation, swathed in history.  WeSET has previously hosted events on site.
