Westmill Directors attend Energy Communities Forum
Together with community energy experts and practitioners from over 30 European countries, Westmill Wind Chair Mark Luntley and Director Jessica Dunning attended the annual REScoop European Energy Communities Forum in Jūrmala, Latvia.
The Forum included sessions on community ownership and energy resilience, inclusive energy communities, funding opportunities and community-led heating and cooling.
The conference was a very collaborative event, with three days focused around sharing information, exchanging knowledge and generating ideas to support the growing community energy network across Europe. The REScoop Annual General Meeting for members followed the Forum.
Representing over 2 million citizens from 2,500 energy communities, REScoop was set up to support emerging community energy groups across Europe to establish and thrive. Like Westmill Wind and Solar Co-operatives, REScoop is run according to the seven international co-operative principles and run by an elected Board of Directors. Westmill Wind Chair Mark Luntley is the current President of the REScoop Board of Directors, and Energy4All, who helps to run the Wind and Solar co-operatives day-to-day, is a member of the Board, together with representatives from Ecopower (Belgium), Energie Samen (Netherlands), Som Energia (Spain), DGRV (Germany), Energie Partagée (France), Goiener (Spain) and ènostra (Italy).
