Westmill Welcomes New Chief Executive Officer
Westmill Wind and Solar Co-operatives are pleased to welcome Lisa Warne as their new Chief Executive Officer.
With a wide variety of experience across a range of sectors including community engagement and sustainability, Lisa is the right person to lead the Westmills into the next exciting phase and will play a key role in the development of the co-operatives.
Lisa is excited to learn about the co-operatives and keen to get stuck into her new role:
I am particularly looking forward to working with our members, partners and the wider community to expand our impact and ensure that the benefits of renewable energy continue to be shared locally. It’s a privilege to lead such values-driven organisations at a time when community energy has never been more important.
Lisa is joining Westmill at a pivotal time, with significant opportunities emerging across the community energy and co-operative sectors. With the Government’s commitment to investing in new community energy initiatives and supporting the growth of the co-operative and mutual economy, organisations such as Westmill are well placed to lead the sector. From pioneering new technologies and developing innovative investment models to strengthening relationships with community energy groups around the world, Westmill is at the forefront of shaping the future of community-owned renewable energy.
Lisa attended our AGMs, where she got to meet and chat with a variety of members from both the wind and solar co-operatives, and learn more about what might come next for Westmill. She is looking forward to chatting with more members at future events and helping the co-ops to bring members’ visions to life.
